Back in Stock After 6 Years
Polysense postcards from my keynote speech at OFFF Barcelona in 2016 are available in the shop.
In 2016 I had the honor to share the main stage at OFFF Barcelona with Lullatone. Over the hour long presentation we shared our two project collaborations: Patatap and Typatone. In what seems prescient now, we also described what it was like to collaborate virtually. For the presentation Shawn, one-half of Lullatone, came up with some vocabulary that aptly described our creative process.
In music production there is a technical term called Polyphonic. Polyphonic sounds describe ways to play multiple notes (or sounds) at the same time in order to create a completely new sound. This idea was applied to the visual design process employed in Patatap and Typatone. In both experiences, visuals needed to be combined and make something new — be more than the sum of their parts. Shawn dubbed this driving force Polyoptic. For the occasion of our presentation, I made postcards for each sense; hence the name Polysense Postcards.
I gave out a few of these postcards to people I met at the conference. Shortly after I returned home from my travels, I moved and lost track of these postcards. Fast forward almost six years and I have found them! I am thrilled to be able to share them with you via my online shop starting today. They are perfect for the audiophile or design-lover in your life.
Wishing you a refreshing spring,
—Jono
